Jeff Nisbet: "Art is application. Not only the application of different mediums on different surfaces, but an application of ones self, ones identity, ones agenda, ones situation, ones environment, ones discourse, ones perception, ones deception, ones understanding, ones fears, ones aspirations, ones contemplations, ones coherence, ones visions, ones dreams, ones reality." Estria began spray painting in Hawaii in 1984 and has painted hundreds of murals. He was a major leader of the "Golden Age" of graffiti (1980's) in San Francisco, pioneering painting techniques of characters and scenes. He is one of the remaining few who continue to reinvent the medium, and push for legitimacy of the art form. Estria is the originator of the stencil tip, a modified cap used by graffiti writers worldwide to create thin airbrush-like lines. Estria has painted in Peru, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Honduras, New York, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Charlotte and San Francisco. Estria is currently creating screen prints for Hip Hop concerts. Hip Hop is now mid-30's, and the graffiti element of the movement is just beginning to be recognized as a canon by universities and museums. However, the visual fine art of Hip Hop is still in early development. Check out his company and his work at: http://samuraigraphix.com/gallery/7

M.F. Patrick "I am a young artist, disenchanted by the aging
process; the stress of making money in the "real" world, the
constant battle for trust that I find in ill-fated relationships, the
pleague of an alcohol driven lifestyle, seeking true friends only to
find that no one is to be trusted..and all that negative stuff..the
effect of the media on women, the effect of corporations on society
and the demise of mom and pop shops..the price of living...where there
is no such thing as a free lunch. and all I want to do is travel, surf,
snowboard, paint, draw, ride my bike...but I feel trapped by bills and
gas prices in this concrete jungle where I waste my time working in
restaurants where I am treated like a piece of shit until I can't take
anymore..only to quit and find myself lying numb in last place of this
rat race. My personal work is a reflection of the life that I can't
stand. But maybe if some of you appreciate my efforts to throw emotion
on canvas, support me and buy my work, then I can see my family and
take off on another adventure to paint, see, draw, see, climb, surf,
see, snowboard, seek, find."
