Espana is absolutely amazing.

After getting off an extremely long flight (10 hours to paris/4 hour layover/4 hours to Malaga), I meet up with my Spanish friend. When I see him, he has this huge huge smile on his face and he asks me, "did you sleep on the plane?" I say "a little" and he replies, "good because we're going out tonight." we drive to Granada and I shower, get ready, and go. At this bar owned by a Texan, he introduces me to all his American friends, to show off I guess. One of the girls, Christina comes up to me 10 minutes after being introduced and says, "you look really familiar, have you lived in California all your life?" I thought she thought she new me from california (which was highly unlikely) so I said "no actually, I'm from Hawaii, I only go to school in cali" The second I said Hawaii, her eyes got huge and she screamed "MILILANI UKA" All of a sudden I had flashbacks of us jumping rope. So to put a long story short, she was in my 5th grade class and we were actually buddies back then. Trippy huh?

Granada is nice, I felt like I was traveling back to the 1500's. I got to see one of the ten wonders of the world, the Alhambra, which is this huge castle. Outside the Cathedral, gypsy women sell rosemary, yelling at people to take one. On my last night in Granada, my friend's friend had a basketball game, so I got to watch a professional game, in the first row, while cheering on a friend. After the game (that they won, the basketball guy, and his girlfriend visiting from Oklahoma all go to the same bar that we went to the first night I got there. After a few drinks there, we move on to this club got the VIP treatment because of my basketball friend. We're all dancing, drinking, having a good time, and the next thing I know, its 6am and its time to go. What made things worse was that at 10am I had to take a 12 hour bus to Barcelona.

By the time I get to Barcelona I was so excited, being on a bus for 12 hours didn't matter anymore. Barcelona is beautiful! It's like a Spanish New York. One could spend hours on La Rambla and never get bored. Imagine Waikiki strip and times it by like 100. So much people, so much street shows, cafes, small stands, everything. The night life is amazing. I go to this Mexican bar and where they have like a zillion drinks that I've never even heard of. When I told the bartender I was from Hawaii, drinks were on him, and he made me lei out of straws for me. I met some Barcelona locals who spoke a little English and after the bar closed, they take me to go to this club. The club was really cool because it WASN'T a tourist hangout and by then, I was so drunk I didn't even notice they were playing techno the whole night.

We leave at around 6am and I have to checkout of my hostel at 11am so needless to say, I didn't get much sleep. After I checked out I walked to the pier and feel asleep on some steps the lead to the ocean. At first people were looking at me like I was crazy, but after a while like 4 other people joined me. I guess they got kicked out of their hotel too. The pier is beautiful. I could probably stay there all day. Well actually, I did stay their all day.

That night, I got on my train and left for Malaga. The trains we're so much better than the bus. I was on a sleeper car and slept the entire 9 hours like it was nothing. When I got off my train I went straight to the airport, said goodbye to my new love Spain and went back to America. My trip to Spain was definitely worth my time and money....
